Job summary

Georgia-Pacific is seeking a safety‑oriented Lead Machine Operator for the Jonestown, PA plant. The role features a 12‑hour Dupont rotation, a base pay of $33.50 per hour plus a $1.00 shift differential between 7pm and 7am, and opportunities to increase pay based on skills and plant performance.

You will lead teams on one or more lines, perform makeready changes, assist maintenance, and drive safety and quality. A quarterly bonus up to 6% through the Performance Pay program is available.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience operating production machinery.
• Previous lead/leadership experience in a manufacturing, military, or industrial environment
• Previous experience in web manufacturing, converting, or other high-volume production operations
• Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance
• This role works rotating 12 hour shifts, with a 7-day break in every 28-day period

Responsibilities

• Lead teams on lines with minimal supervision and provide direction to operator(s) to maintain safety, productivity, and quality standards.
• Perform minor mechanical repairs and line maintenance; operate in line systems with manual duties.
• Perform makeready/changeover setups according to production schedules.
• Assist in completing preventative maintenance tasks.
• Identify improvements to reduce waste and increase production within quality standards.
• Promote safety through employee involvement and accountability to recognize unsafe conditions.
• Ensure materials related to job tickets are scanned into Plex and scrap is recorded.
• Perform required quality inspections and maintain accurate records of results.
• Maintain and clean machines and working area as needed
