Job summary

Blue Origin seeks a leader for its Lunar Permanence thermal hardware team in Seattle. You will define, develop, and deliver spacecraft thermal components—cold plates, heat exchangers, and radiators—while guiding a diverse team across multiple locations.

You will own the programmatic aspects of delivery, mitigate risks, and ensure design alignment with customer requirements and internal criteria. Strong communication and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• Experience leading teams to deliver complex engineering products.
• Strong knowledge of thermal/heat transfer fundamentals.
• 5+ years in a relevant engineering field, with significant aerospace thermal systems experience.
• 2+ years of project management experience.
• Good communication across all levels of the organization.
• Hands-on development lifecycle experience with cold plates, heat exchangers, radiators.

Responsibilities

• Product Delivery: manage project scope and deliverables to meet program objectives.
• Identify and manage technical and programmatic risks and opportunities.
• Coordinate with Operations and Supply Chain to drive cost and meet delivery objectives.
• Track and manage team execution and lifecycle costs.
• Create data collection framework to inform key project metrics.
• Oversee talent acquisition and development, with performance management.
• Engage in technical decisions on thermal hardware design, development, build and test.
• Own lifecycle of assigned product scope from development to production.
