Responsibilities

• Direct the day-to-day functions of the nursing assistants in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the long term care facility.
• Ensure all nursing personnel comply with written policies and procedures.
• Review department policies and suggest revisions as needed.
• Plan shifts, services, programs and activities with nursing staff and support personnel.
• Maintain and update the Nursing Service Procedures Manual and ensure compliance.
• Prepare and present reports on shift activities to the Administrator.
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure comprehensive resident care.
• Participate in quality assurance activities and facility surveys.
• Oversee charting, documentation, and drug administration processes.
• Provide leadership and supervision to the nursing staff on your unit.
