Job summary

Caledonia Senior Living & Memory Care in Illinois is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide direct resident care and supervise nursing assistants under the guidelines of state and federal regulations.

You will lead shift nursing teams, coordinate admissions, transfers and discharges, document care accurately, administer medications, and collaborate with other departments to maintain a warm, safe environment for residents.

Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse with current unencumbered state license.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Must be able to make independent decisions when warranted.
• Knowledge of nursing practices and laws governing care facilities.
• Current CPR Certification is required.
• Experience in Long Term Care is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct the day-to-day functions of the nursing assistants.
• Complete and file required record-keeping forms on admissions and discharges.
• Prepare and administer medications as ordered.
• Develop and maintain rapport with other departments to ensure nursing services meet resident needs.
• Perform rounds with physicians as necessary.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident care information.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
