Job summary

Arcadia Care in Springfield, Illinois is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide direct resident care and supervise nursing assistants on the shift. You will ensure quality care in accordance with state and federal guidelines and coordinate with the Director of Nursing.

Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse with current unencumbered state license.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
• Must be able to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
• Knowledge of nursing & medical practices & regulations pertaining to nursing care facilities.
• Current CPR Certification is required.
• Experience in Long Term Care is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct the day-to-day functions of the nursing assistants.
• Complete and file required record-keeping forms/charts upon admission/transfer/discharge.
• Prepare and administer medications as ordered by the physician.
• Develop and maintain good working rapport with inter-departmental staff to ensure nursing services meet residents’ needs.
• Receive/give nursing reports, perform rounds with physicians as necessary.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident information and ensure privacy of care.
