Job summary

Laketown Electric in Minnesota is seeking a Lead Power-Limited Technician to run medium to large commercial low-voltage projects from start to finish. You’ll manage site walkthroughs, label and install CAT6/6A, fiber, and telecommunication room buildouts.

The role requires 4–5+ years of low voltage experience, PLT license, and the ability to lead projects onsite Monday–Friday 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM. Company provides training, benefits, and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

  • 4-5+ years of low voltage experience installing cat6 and fiber in commercial settings.
  • PLT license required
  • Valid driver’s license
  • BICSI certifications preferred (INST1/INSTC/INSTF)

Responsibilities

  • Install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot Cat6/6A and fiber optics.
  • Install lighting controls, structured cabling, paging and camera systems.
  • Read/interpret large building blueprints and make changes as needed.
  • Label and certify installed systems per plans.
  • Build out new telecom closets and cabinets/racks.
  • Lead small to medium commercial projects and mentor apprentices.
  • Coordinate site walkthroughs with PM to determine cabling routes.
  • Ensure installations follow specifications and stay to code.
  • Maintain project schedule and stay on or under budget.
