Job summary

Hensel Phelps in Colorado is seeking a Low Voltage Estimating Manager to develop accurate cost estimates for low voltage and communications systems across diverse projects. You will review specs, analyze drawings, evaluate labor and material costs, and prepare competitive proposals in collaboration with clients, vendors, and project teams.

Qualifications

• Three+ years of experience estimating low voltage systems.
• Experience developing complete low voltage estimates from conceptual design to final bid.
• Knowledge of low voltage industry standards, labor productivity, and procurement.
• Ability to present complex issues in writing and in meetings.
• Ability to work in a high-performance team.
• Proficiency with MS Office and project management tools.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Review project specs, drawings, contracts, and RFPs; organize bid documents and prepare complete estimates.
• Analyze drawings to price labor, materials, equipment, and subcontracts.
• Develop budgets, ROMs, and conceptual estimates for new, renovated, and retrofit projects.
• Perform quantity surveys and pricing for low voltage systems and infra.
• Identify and communicate project risks, scope gaps, and procurement challenges.
• Lead or participate in estimate reviews with leadership and operations.
• Attend job walks, pre-bid meetings, and design coordination sessions.
• Develop value engineering to improve budget efficiency without affecting objectives.
• Support handoff with project managers and field leadership to ensure alignment.
