Job summary

Next Level Technician is looking for an experienced Lead Cable Technician for long-term hospital projects in the Richmond and Fredericksburg, VA areas. You will lead commercial structured cabling installations and guide less-experienced colleagues in the field, ensuring safety, quality, and progress.

You will work from prints and cable layouts, handle CAT5e/CAT6 systems, and coordinate with project teams in a hospital environment.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of commercial structured cabling experience
  • Strong CAT5e/CAT6 pulling, termination, testing and troubleshooting
  • Experience with racks, cabinets, patch panels, and pathway systems
  • Ability to read prints and work independently
  • Previous lead or higher-level technician experience preferred
  • Strong communication and professionalism in a hospital environment
  • Reliable transportation
  • Basic low voltage hand tools and PPE

Responsibilities

  • Lead and perform commercial structured cabling installations
  • Pull, route, dress, label, terminate, and test CAT5e/CAT6 cabling
  • Install and dress racks, cabinets, patch panels, J-hooks, and cable pathways
  • Complete MDF/IDF buildouts
  • Read and work from prints, floor plans, and cable layouts
  • Test and troubleshoot installed cabling
  • Maintain clean, organized, and professional installations
  • Provide field direction and support to less-experienced technicians
  • Communicate project progress, material needs, and field issues
  • Follow hospital, OSHA, and site-specific safety requirements

Lead Cable Technician – Richmond / Fredericksburg, VA

Next Level Technician is hiring experienced Lead Cable Technicians for long-term hospital projects in the Richmond and Fredericksburg, VA markets. We are looking for higher-level structured cabling technicians who can work independently, take ownership of assigned areas, and help lead work in the field. This is an opportunity to get in early with a customer preparing for a large, long-term project and building out an entire team.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and perform commercial structured cabling installations
  • Pull, route, dress, label, terminate, and test CAT5e/CAT6 cabling
  • Install and dress racks, cabinets, patch panels, J-hooks, and cable pathways
  • Complete MDF/IDF buildouts

Schedule & Project Details
  • Monday-Friday
  • Primarily first shift
  • Occasional night work may arise but is rare and can often be handled on a volunteer basis
  • Hospital environment
  • Long-term work with a major upcoming project and continued team growth expected
  • No vaccinations currently required
  • A flu shot could potentially become a hospital requirement during the winter
