About the job Lead Low Voltage Technician

This organization delivers large-scale, high-profile low voltage infrastructure projects across the United States. The team supports national service work and major commercial deployments across retail, office, warehouse, distribution center, and industrial environments.

We are seeking a Low Voltage Lead Project Technician to support structured cabling service and large project work across multiple U.S. markets. This is a travel-intensive role, with technicians traveling up to 95% of the time within a 4–6 hour radius of their region.

This is a hands‑on, field‑based position responsible for leading and executing low voltage cabling, structured cabling, and data cabling installations while coordinating crews of 4 to 20 technicians. The role requires strong technical expertise, the ability to work independently, and clear communication in fast‑paced commercial environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, troubleshoot, and maintain low voltage cabling and structured cabling systems in commercial environments
  • Lead installation and service work involving data cabling, voice cabling, and CCTV cabling
  • Run and support low voltage cabling including drilling through concrete walls and performing limited conduit work
  • Ensure structured cabling is neatly dressed, labeled, tied, and bundled in accordance with quality and safety standards
  • Install cable support systems including J‑hooks, cable racks, innerduct, and pathways
  • Repair and support cabling infrastructure including cable poles and towers as required by project scope
  • Test and certify data cabling and structured cabling systems to verify performance and connectivity
  • Troubleshoot low voltage cabling and network issues and perform corrective work
  • Coordinate daily work activities while leading crews of 4 to 20 technicians on active job sites
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship, professionalism, appearance, and customer interaction
  • Follow all customer, internal, and OSHA safety requirements
  • Complete additional duties as assigned to support project completion
Required Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Low Voltage Lead Technician, Low Voltage Technician, or Data Cable Technician
  • Strong background in structured cabling, low voltage cabling, and data cabling systems
  • Ability and willingness to travel nationwide up to 95% of the time
  • Working knowledge of BICSI, NEC, and TIA/EIA standards
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and site maps
  • Experience with CCTV, voice, and data cabling preferred
  • Comfortable working independently while leading and collaborating with teams of 4 to 20 technicians
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with customers and internal teams
  • Ability to identify individual colors and learn cabling color codes
  • Comfortable working in confined spaces
  • Ability to operate boom lifts and scissor lifts and work at heights of 40+ feet
  • Must provide basic telecommunications tools, PPE, and reliable transportation
  • Conduit installation experience is a plus
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (no DUI or DWI within the past 3 years)
  • Hourly rate: $20–$30/hour, based on experience, certifications, and location
