Job summary

Next Level Technician in Richmond, VA seeks a Commercial Low Voltage Cable Technician. You will pull and terminate CAT5e/CAT6 cables, label them, test with Fluke equipment, and install racks, patch panels, trays, and MDF/IDF spaces.

You will support access control, CCTV, AV, and fiber optic systems while reading blueprints. Requirements include 2+ years in commercial/industrial low voltage, familiarity with structured cabling, telecom networks, and willingness to travel within Virginia.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of commercial/industrial low voltage experience.
• Experience with structured cabling or security systems preferred.
• Certificates such as BICSI, Lift, and OSHA are a plus.

Location: Richmond, VA

Responsibilities

• Pull, terminate, dress, and label CAT5e/CAT6 cable


• Test installed cable (Fluke or similar testers)


• Punch down voice and data jacks


• Install racks, patch panels, cable trays, cabinets, MDF/IDF, etc.


• Work safely on ladders/lifts (comfortable with heights)


• Read and interpret blueprints/system layouts


• Install/support access control, CCTV, audio visual, and fiber optic systems

Requirements

• 2+ years commercial/industrial low voltage experience


• Experience with structured cabling, voice/data, or security systems preferred


• BICSI, Lift, and OSHA certifications a plus


• Basic hand tools and PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, hi-vis vest, steel-toe boots)


• Working knowledge of telecom/data networks


• Willingness to travel to job sites within Virginia as needed
