Job summary

PSEG Long Island is seeking a Load Forecasting Specialist to support the Power System Management group. The role involves developing forecasts of electricity use for 1.1 million Long Island customers, interacting with Finance, Energy Efficiency, and NYISO, and leading SME-driven analyses.

Responsibilities include regression modeling, spatial load projections, and regulatory testimony preparation. Strong quantitative skills and SAS proficiency are required for modeling and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in quantitative analysis in the utility sector.
• Must have skill in regression analysis.
• Demonstrated ability to design and use complex spreadsheets.
• Proficient with SAS or similar statistical tools.

Responsibilities

• Monitor electricity use, weather, economic and demographic results and develop monthly variance analyses.
• Participate on NYISO LFTF to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Prepare testimony and exhibits for DPS Rate Cases.
• Develop hourly load simulations for production cost modeling.
• Provide expertise in applied mathematics to other PSEG LI teams.
