Job summary

PSEG Long Island is seeking a Data/Financial Analyst to help create and maintain databases, develop reports, and support budgeting and forecasting for Revenue Operations. The role emphasizes data analysis, reporting, and process improvements to support strategic decisions in a regulated energy environment.

The successful candidate will collaborate with IT and management, work in a hybrid environment with onsite and remote days, and ensure accuracy in tariff compliance and regulatory reporting.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in a related field; 2 years of analytical experience, or 6 years if no degree.
• Proficiency in Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Tableau and SAP.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent verbal, quantitative and written communication skills.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and safe driving history.
• Teamwork and initiative.
• Compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage operating and capital budgets, including variance analysis, forecasting, and financial reporting.
• Create, maintain, and enhance databases, spreadsheets, reports, and data reconciliation processes to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, including journal entries, analysis, and reporting.
• Analyze business and financial performance, identify trends, risks, cost-saving opportunities, and recommend corrective actions.
• Lead problem-solving and process improvement initiatives through root cause analysis, gap assessment, and solution implementation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and deliver actionable insights.
• Manage competing priorities and stakeholder requests while ensuring timely, accurate deliverables.
• Track vendor contracts, invoices, and project expenditures.
• Support special projects and other business initiatives as needed.
