Job summary

Escape Velocity is seeking a principal-level designer to lead live-service design for events and social systems in a fully remote role. You will drive event architecture, LiveOps, and community design alongside Designers, PM, and UX.

You will own end-to-end event design, define configurable tooling, and shape onboarding with telemetry-informed iteration. This position reports to the Design Director, Meta & Live Service, with global collaboration opportunities.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in game design, including 4+ years designing for and operating a live-service title after launch.

Responsibilities

• Design events: reusable, configurable formats that scale to our audience needs.
• Design events end to end: entry conditions, currencies, consumables, reward pacing, and how events feed the wider meta.
• Assist in defining configuration surfaces and tooling requirements to make running an event a config job.
• Help set the standard for how events are specced, instrumented, reviewed and iterated after they run, and retired.
• Design community and social systems to curate a strong, growing community.
• Partner with teams to add features to a social layer and design the end-to-end social funnel experience.
• Partner with FTUE and designers to sequence meta systems into onboarding, define nudges and re-entry logic, and telemetry to measure onboarding effectiveness.
