Job summary

Escape Velocity Entertainment is seeking a Senior Level Designer to join our fully remote team. You will own design and construction of spaces supporting core mechanics, combat and movement, and guide blockouts from concept to final polish.

You will collaborate across disciplines, iterate with playtest data, mentor junior team members, and help drive tools and workflows with designers and engineers.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of professional level design experience.
• Proficiency in 3D level building and space design.
• Experience with UE5 or Unity engines.
• Strong communication and mentoring abilities.
• Portfolio demonstrating shipped or playable levels.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-discipline teams to plan and create level content.
• Present ideas to internal and external teams.
• Design and develop maps, arenas, objectives and combat spaces from concept to final blockout.
• Communicate flow, scale, player positioning, sightlines, cover and traversal in blockouts.
• Iterate quickly using playtest data and feedback.
• Provide feedback on others' playtest work.
• Collaborate with Mechanics, AI Designers and Engineers to create gameplay features.
• Work with Environment Artists to translate blockouts into polished environments.
