Job summary

Versant in Englewood Cliffs, NJ is seeking a Manager of Production & Technical Operations to lead live productions. You will supervise studio and control room staff and coordinate with Editorial, Engineering, and Facilities to ensure readiness and timely execution of broadcasts.

The role requires 4+ years in live television production, strong leadership, and on-site work in New Jersey with occasional travel to NY facilities. Base salary ranges from $120,000 to $135,000 with bonus eligibility.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in live television studio, control room, or production operations.
• Strong knowledge of studio/control-room workflows and production roles.
• Ability to make timely operational decisions under pressure.
• Proven leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Flexible production schedule including evenings and weekends.
• Must work primarily on-site in Englewood Cliffs, NJ with occasional travel.
• Experience managing staff and freelance production personnel.
• Experience working with represented labor, especially NABET and IATSE.
• Experience supporting live news, sports, entertainment, or events.
• Working knowledge of production switchers, audio, graphics, and cameras.
• Familiarity with IP-based production environments and evolving tech.
• Experience supporting workflow transformation and staffing.

Responsibilities

• Lead live production operations across studios and control rooms.
• Ensure productions are staffed, prepared, and executed to standards.
• Anticipate staffing and technical needs for daily programming and events.
• Direct staff and freelance crews, adjust staffing in real time.
• Collaborate with Editorial, Engineering, and Facilities to resolve issues.
• Coach and develop Production Operations personnel and onboarding.
• Improve staffing models, workflows, and adoption of new tech.
