Job summary

VERSANT Media, based in Englewood Cliffs, NJ, seeks an Operations Supervisor for our Technical Operations team to oversee on-air cable operations and streaming events across Sports, News, and Entertainment channels.

You will monitor distribution networks, ensure high reliability, and coordinate live event execution with cross-functional teams, driving continuous improvement and best practices.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience in an on-air broadcast environment.
• 3+ years understanding television production, broadcast operations, and production requirements.
• Strong computer, communication, and facilitation skills.
• Able to lead, prioritize and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
• Track record of meeting or exceeding performance expectations.
• Willingness to work any scheduled shift, including nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a shift of on-air cable operations for Versant networks and streaming events.
• Monitor and maintain satellite, fiber, terrestrial distribution, and cloud streams.
• Ensure 99.999% on-air reliability and schedules across channels.
• Manage daily maintenance events in the NOC.
• Supervise a shift of technical operators during live and taped events.
• Coordinate day-of-air issue resolution between departments.
• Act as contact to brand leaders for schedules and broadcast execution.
• Lead triage and documentation for on-air issues.
• Develop and distribute detailed scheduling plans for live events.
• Maintain and help create SOPs and guidelines.
• Perform live event transmission tasks and lead live events execution.
• Manage contingency decisions for live events and record/turnaround processes.
• Support project management for operational improvements.
