Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must complete the lineman apprentice training program.
• Demonstrated ability to perform construction and maintenance on poles, towers and underground equipment.
• Able to operate power equipment used in Lines Field Operations.
• CDL must meet CMV Safety Act requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform overhead and underground line construction and maintenance on energized or de-energized lines.
• Set or remove poles or steel towers; install/remove associated equipment.
• Operate line truck, digger or aerial truck when required.
• String conductors, splice and correct sagging wires.
• Rigging of blocks and gin poles to raise/lower equipment; assist foreman.
• Operate switches; repair conductors and transformers; replace poles and equipment.
• Place and clear temporary grounds on de-energized lines.
• Perform underground commercial and residential work; work rotating shifts including weekends and holidays.
