Job summary

Guest Services, Inc. at Giants Ridge seeks a Lead Lift Operator to operate aerial lifts, conveyors, and tows, and to train and supervise lift staff for safe, efficient mountain operations.

The role emphasizes excellent guest service, accurate ticket verification, and day-to-day leadership in a winter-season environment. The position is full-time during the winter season, with a 40-hour average per week and a schedule that includes day, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• 1+ year of lift operations experience preferred.
• Strong work ethic and dependable.
• Ability to understand verbal and written instructions.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Set up multiple lifts each day.
• Provide daily on-the-job training to new and returning lift operators.
• Lead Lift Operators in tasks assigned by Mountain Manager, Director of Mountain Operations, and Lift Maintenance Manager.
• Train team members in opening, on-shift and closing policies and procedures.
• Instruct and assist maintenance of lift loading/unloading areas, ramps, lift entrances, and mazes.
• Monitor guests' use of lifts, check tickets, and enforce policies.
• Provide a welcoming environment for staff and guests.
• Follow Giants Ridge policies and protocols.
• Document daily inspections of lifts, tows and conveyors.
• Communicate problems to Supervisors and/or lift maintenance personnel.
• Instruct participants in proper use of Giants Ridge facilities and equipment.
• Assist in evacuation of a disabled lift.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
