Job summary

Alterra Mountain Company is seeking a Lift Operator Lead at Solitude Mountain Resort to supervise loading/unloading, train staff, and ensure safe lift operations for guests of all ages. The role emphasizes strong leadership, adherence to safety guidelines, and delivering an outstanding guest experience in all weather conditions.

The position requires experience as a lift operator, English fluency, and the ability to stand for long periods while working weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must have 3 seasons experience as a lift operator.
• Operate in English; follow English instructions.
• Complete Solitude Mountain Resort Lift Operator training.
• Able to spend long hours outside in extreme weather.
• Able to stand for long periods of time.
• Willing to work weekends and holidays.
• Must be able to twist, turn, pull, and push up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to communicate professionally with staff and guests.
• Lead by example.

Responsibilities

• Use good communication with staff and guests.
• Oversee safe, efficient operation of a minimum of 3 lifts and crew.
• Teach lift controls to new operators.
• Load and unload guests of all ages and abilities.
• Monitor for improper loading and respond to emergencies.
• Provide exceptional guest service.
• Maintain loading/unloading ramps and lift mazes.
• Ensure chairs are clear of snow and ramp setup is proper.
• Enforce company policies and procedures.
