Job summary

The Houstonian Hotel, Club & Spa seeks a Head Lifeguard to lead the Lifeguard team, train new hires, conduct in-services, observe duties, test skills, organize rotations, and maintain records. This role partners with the Aquatics Manager to ensure staffing, leadership, and coaching align with luxury standards.

Head Lifeguards attend all Lifeguard In-Services and Aquatics, Club and Company meetings, work holidays and events, and uphold discretion and professionalism.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• Experience managing Lifeguards and scheduling staff, or at least 3 months on The Houstonian Lifeguarding staff.
• Must be at least 17 years old.
• Must audition to show skills are strong and up to date.
• English speaking to a high standard.
• Customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Lifeguard team and oversee daily operations.
• Train new hires and conduct in-services.
• Schedule rotations and ensure duties are completed.
• Maintain records and report hazards to management.
• Ensure safety rules are followed and respond to emergencies.
• Assist with training Pool Attendants as needed.
• Attend Lifeguard In-Services and related meetings.
• Protect patrons and staff during holidays and events.
