Job description

I'm working with an innovative space technology company that's looking for a Launch Engineer to support spacecraft integration and launch campaigns.

This is a highly hands-on role working directly with flight hardware during the final stages before launch. You'll be responsible for ensuring spacecraft mechanical and electrical systems are correctly integrated, inspected, tested, and ready for flight.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform final flight inspections of spacecraft mechanisms and launch vehicle separation systems.
  • Support mechanical integration of separation hardware, release systems, and flight-critical components.
  • Perform electrical connector mating, continuity testing, and interface verification.
  • Verify spacecraft and launch vehicle mechanical and electrical interfaces.
  • Support hardware troubleshooting, anomaly investigations, and discrepancy resolution.
  • Maintain configuration control and detailed documentation throughout launch campaigns.
  • Work closely with spacecraft engineering, integration, quality, safety, and launch operations teams.
  • Support launch rehearsals, readiness reviews, countdown activities, and mission-critical troubleshooting.
What We're Looking For
  • 3+ years of experience working with aerospace, spacecraft, launch vehicles, defence, aviation, or other complex hardware systems.
  • Hands-on experience with hardware integration, test, manufacturing, commissioning, or field engineering.
  • Experience performing mechanical inspections and torque-controlled assembly operations.
  • Experience working with electrical connectors, harnesses, continuity testing, or flight-like electrical interfaces.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, ICDs, specifications, and test procedures.
  • Strong understanding of configuration control and engineering documentation.

Previous experience with spacecraft integration, launch-site operations, separation systems, deployment mechanisms, umbilicals, or flight hardware would be particularly valuable.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being close to the hardware and wants to play a direct role in getting spacecraft through final integration and successfully to launch.

The position will require travel to launch sites and flexibility around launch campaign schedules.
