Job description

Aerospace Integration & Test Engineer – Launch Operations

Location: Cape Canaveral, FL

Want to take your hands-on engineering experience into the world of spacecraft launches?

We're partnering with an ambitious, rapidly growing space technology company looking for an Aerospace Integration & Test Engineer to support the final preparation, integration, and verification of sophisticated satellite hardware before launch.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an engineer who enjoys working directly with hardware, solving complex technical problems, and seeing the results of their work contribute to real space missions.

You don't necessarily need previous launch-site experience. We're interested in engineers with strong hands-on backgrounds in mechanical assembly, electrical integration, hardware inspection, and testing who want to apply their expertise to spacecraft launch operations.

The Opportunity

  • Perform hands-on mechanical and electrical integration of complex aerospace hardware.

  • Inspect and verify mechanical assemblies, fasteners, torque values, and critical hardware interfaces.

  • Support installation, testing, and verification of spacecraft mechanisms and separation hardware.

  • Perform electrical connector mating, continuity checks, and functional verification testing.

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, assembly instructions, and technical documentation.

  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues during integration and testing.

  • Maintain accurate inspection, test, and configuration control records.

  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and launch operations teams.

  • Support final hardware preparation, readiness reviews, and launch campaign activities.

What We're Looking For

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.

  • 3+ years of experience working with complex engineering hardware.

  • Hands-on experience in mechanical assembly, hardware integration, testing, or manufacturing engineering.

  • Familiarity with torque-controlled assemblies, precision mechanical interfaces, and hardware inspections.

  • Experience working with electrical connectors, harnesses, or electrical test equipment.

  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical procedures.

  • Strong troubleshooting skills and excellent attention to detail.

  • Comfortable working in highly controlled engineering or manufacturing environments.

Additional experience that would be beneficial:

  • Aerospace, defense, aviation, or spacecraft hardware.

  • Environmental or functional testing of complex hardware.

  • Electrical continuity, insulation resistance, or interface testing.

  • Cleanroom operations, ESD controls, and quality management systems.

  • Spacecraft mechanisms, actuators, or separation systems.

Previous launch campaign experience is advantageous but not essential.

What's in It for You?

  • Transition your engineering expertise into spacecraft launch operations.

  • Work directly with advanced satellite hardware during the final stages of mission preparation.

  • Gain exposure to spacecraft integration, flight-critical mechanisms, and launch vehicle interfaces.

  • Join a rapidly expanding engineering organization with exciting technical challenges.

  • Build experience across mechanical integration, electrical verification, hardware testing, and launch readiness.

  • See the hardware you've worked on progress from the integration facility to the launchpad.

This is a hands-on, launch-site-focused opportunity requiring flexibility around mission schedules, including potential evening, weekend, and extended campaign work.

If you're a hands-on engineer looking for an opportunity to work on real spacecraft missions, we'd love to hear from you.
