Job summary

MacKay is seeking a Professional Land Surveyor - Project Manager to lead survey projects in Montana, with oversight of field and office teams in a dynamic environment. The role emphasizes accuracy, client collaboration, and delivering data-driven results across regional projects.

The ideal candidate will have a Montana PLS license or transfer capability, 5+ years of project management experience, and a strong background in CAD/Geospatial workflows using AutoCAD Civil 3D and Trimble tools.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience managing survey projects.
• Montana PLS license or ability to transfer/obtain a Montana license within an acceptable timeframe.
• Bachelor's Degree in Land Surveying, Civil Engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Conduct land surveys using GPS, total stations, levels and other equipment.
• Prepare and maintain field notes, sketches, and survey reports.
• Analyze data to determine boundaries, elevations and features.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and construction teams for planning.
• Oversee field and office survey teams and provide guidance.
• Perform boundary, topographic, and construction staking surveys.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and safety protocols.
• Use CAD/Geospatial software to create maps and plans.
• Research land records and titles for survey information.
• Communicate with clients and contractors on survey issues.
