Job summary

MacKay seeks a Professional Land Surveyor-Project Manager for our Butte, MT team, with option for Helena or Bozeman offices. The role oversees the Survey team, blends office and field work, and requires 50-75% travel in the region.

You will conduct surveys, prepare maps, and provide data for engineering and construction projects. The ideal candidate holds a Montana PLS license (or can obtain one), 5+ years of survey project management, and a degree in Land Surveying or Civil Engineering.

Qualifications

• Professional Land Surveyor license in Montana or ability to transfer/obtain within timeframe.
• 5+ years of experience managing survey projects.
• Bachelor's Degree in Land Surveying, Civil Engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Conduct land surveys using GPS, total stations, and levels.
• Prepare field notes, sketches, and survey reports.
• Analyze survey data for location, elevation, and dimensions of land features.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and construction teams.
• Oversee field and office survey teams and provide mentorship.
• Perform boundary and topographic surveys and construction staking.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and safety protocols.
• Use CAD/Geospatial software to create maps and plans.
• Verify data accuracy and research property boundaries.
