Job summary

MacKay is seeking a motivated Professional Land Surveyor-Project Manager to lead our Pasco, WA survey team. You will manage projects from initiation to delivery, working with clients, project teams, and field crews, while mentoring staff and providing technical leadership.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include a Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license in Washington or ability to transfer/obtain within an acceptable timeframe.
• Up to 5 years of experience managing survey projects.
• Strong knowledge of surveying principles, practices, and equipment (GPS, robotic total stations, data collectors).
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and survey software (Trimble Business Center or similar).
• Ability to lead and mentor field crews and office staff.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Manage a variety of land surveying projects (boundary, topographic, ALTA, parcel maps, subdivision maps, legal descriptions, construction staking).
• Develop project scopes, budgets, and schedules; ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
• Serve as primary client contact throughout the project lifecycle.
• Oversee field and office survey teams, providing guidance and mentorship.
• Review and certify survey documents (plats, legal descriptions, exhibits).
• Coordinate with engineering teams, contractors, and agencies to support project goals.
