Job summary

Qualifications

• Associate of Science Degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Meets expectations of Christus Health leadership competencies.
• Trains and conducts competency checklists for Phlebotomist/Lab Assistant staff.
• Monitors collection reports, resolves problems, and completes related paperwork.
• Operates centrifuge, prepares specimens, and handles referrals to reference laboratories.
• Monitors collection area to ensure timely specimen collection and assists phlebotomists when needed.
• Handles inquiries from within the lab and other hospital departments with professional service.
• Enters orders and cancellations using Hospital LIS and processes specimens for testing.
• Maintains laboratory records, reports, and equipment; manages reporting to Health Information.
