Job summary

Alnylam Pharmaceuticals, Inc. seeks an Associate Director to lead the delivery of laboratory informatics platforms, including ELN, sample management, and entity registration.

You will partner with ReDev and CMC teams to translate scientific needs into scalable, compliant digital capabilities and end-to-end workflows in a regulated environment. You will drive governance, data integrity, and instrument data strategy while collaborating with Quality Technology and IT to ensure alignment with QC

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Life Sciences, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 10–12 years of experience in laboratory informatics, digital lab technology, or related biotech/pharma domains.
• Proven experience delivering or managing platforms such as ELN, sample management, entity registration, or related laboratory systems.
• Strong understanding of laboratory workflows across Research and/or CMC environments.
• Experience translating business needs into system designs, roadmaps, and delivery plans.
• Experience leading cross-functional delivery involving business stakeholders, vendors, and IT teams.
• Working knowledge of GxP, Part 11, CSV principles, and data integrity (ALCOA+) as applicable to laboratory systems.
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead Delivery of Laboratory Informatics Platforms: Own the delivery and lifecycle management of ELN, sample management, entity registration, and workflow orchestration.
• Translate Business Needs into Digital Capabilities: Partner with lab and ops stakeholders to design solutions that improve data capture, traceability, and user experience.
• Establish Product and Platform Governance: Define standards for demand intake, prioritization, release management, and change control.
• Enable End-to-End Laboratory Workflows: Deliver integrated workflows connecting experiment execution, sample lifecycle, and data capture.
• Lead Instrument Data Capture Strategy: Own strategy for instrument data capture across ReDev and CMC with integrated context in ELN and related platforms.
• Partner Across IT and Business Functions: Collaborate with Data/AI, Infrastructure, Security, and Quality Technology teams for secure, scalable platforms.
• Ensure Compliance and Sustainability: Align data models, master data, and traceability with regulatory requirements and audit readiness.
