Job summary

MSD, located in West Point, PA, seeks a Laboratory Animal Resources Supervisor to oversee animal care operations with minimal direction. You will supervise up to 15 animal care workers, train staff, ensure safety, and manage records, supplies, and SOP adherence in compliance with USDA, NIH Guide and GLP standards.

Responsibilities include coordinating animal purchases with veterinarians, developing validation programs, and leading cross‑department collaborations within the R&D division.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience in a Research in vivo field.
• Preferred 5 years' experience in a Research Laboratory in vivo management.
• ALAT and AAALAS certification are preferred.
• BS or MS in biology or related in vivo field required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and lead up to 15 animal care personnel in animal care and husbandry.
• Train and develop staff, ensure safety, and enforce SOPs.
• Coordinate animal purchases with area veterinarians to meet research needs.
• Collaborate with LAR, research staff and other support teams on projects.
• Manage records, supplies, equipment and laboratory procedures to ensure GLP compliance.
• Include weekend and holiday duty as part of rotation.
