Merck in West Point, PA seeks a Laboratory Animal Resources lead to oversee and develop the animal care program. You will supervise up to 15 hourly staff, ensure compliance with SOPs and regulations, and collaborate with research teams to support in vivo studies.

The role requires a BS in Biology or related field with at least 2 years of in vivo research experience; an MS is preferred. ALAT/AAALAS certification is advantageous. Occasional weekend/holiday duties are included.

Formación

• BS in Biology or related in vivo field required.
• MS in Biology or related in vivo field preferred.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in a Research in vivo field.
• ALAT, AAALAS certification preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Collaborate across projects and communicate work-related information to project teams.
• Lead and train up to 15 animal care personnel in laboratory animal care and husbandry.
• Oversee ordering of animals and coordinate housing with area veterinarians.
• Develop and implement equipment and process validation programs (sanitation, water testing, air particulates, temp/lighting).
• Maintain animal source and transaction records; develop and monitor SOPs for daily activities.
• Rotational weekend and holiday duty.
