Job summary

Wake Forest University School of Medicine is seeking a Sr. Laboratory Animal Technician Supervisor to oversee the Animal Resources Program Facilities and coordinate with the Operations Manager to ensure regulatory compliance.

The role involves supervising technicians, interviewing applicants, coaching staff, and addressing issues within the facilities, with emphasis on adherence to federal rules and AAALAC guidelines. Weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with three years as a Senior Laboratory Animal Technician or equivalent experience, or AALAS LAT certification.
• Valid state driver's license; AALAS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operation of the Animal Resources Program Facilities and supervise LATT/LAT/SR LAT staff.
• Interview applicants and assist with employee selection; coach staff to improve performance.
• Monitor compliance with federal regulations and the Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals.
• Serve as liaison to the research community and address facility-related issues.
