Job summary

UF Health Shands Hospital in Central Florida is seeking a Lab PAA/Phlebotomist Supervisor to oversee daily venipuncture and specimen collection, and supervise staff. This role emphasizes patient-centered service, accurate specimen handling, and compliant lab operations within a teaching hospital setting.

Hours are Monday-Friday with variable days; responsibilities include coordinating the practice, resolving issues, and ensuring smooth patient flow in a busy clinical environment.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• One year of recent phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Computer skills and familiarity with hospital information systems.

Responsibilities

• Delivers excellent patient-centered service by performing venipuncture and specimen collection.
• Organizes and supervises staff in daily operations and patient relations.
• Manages EMR/lab systems workflows and sample processing for transport to other labs.
• Answers phones, checks in patients, and maintains patient wait experience.
