Job summary

IQVIA Laboratories in Durham, NC is seeking a Manager to lead the transformation of our ligand binding bioanalytical laboratory into a digitally orchestrated and automated operation powered by AI-assisted workflows. Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Science/Engineering or related field required.
• 5+ years in laboratory operations, lab transformation, automation programs, or digital lab systems.
• Experience implementing lab automation and/or digital lab platforms, including LIMS, ELN, and instrument integration.
• Familiarity with validation approaches and regulated laboratory environments, including risk-based validation, CSV, 21 CFR Part 11 concepts, data integrity, and audit trails.

Responsibilities

• Lead the automation transformation roadmap from concept through scaled deployment.
• Design and optimize end-to-end workflows across sample receipt, preparation, analysis, data capture, review, and reporting.
• Manage change across scientists, Quality Control, and operations by addressing skill gaps, role evolution, and adoption needs.
• Lead a multidisciplinary team of automation engineers, scientists, and QC documentation specialists to deliver measurable results.
• Define and prioritize the automation product backlog, including requirements, delivery sequencing, and user adoption.
• Establish effective operating rhythms such as sprint planning, standups, retrospectives, and release reviews where appropriate.
• Partner with Quality to implement quality-by-design, validation strategies, change control, and inspection readiness.
• Drive adoption through training, playbooks, ownership models, and clear exception-handling processes.
