Job summary

Indigo is seeking a highly capable L2 Field Engineer who will lead field deployment, maintenance, fault resolution, and technical mentoring across Indigo’s telecoms network in the U.S. You will supervise field activities, coordinate with Project Managers, and drive adherence to SLAs and safety standards.

This role demands hands-on installation, testing (OTDR, Ethernet), cabling, and commissioning, plus on-call duties and the ability to adapt to multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Experience in physically building telecoms infrastructure from plans to defined quality requirements.
• Experience in network commissioning, testing and fault finding with ability to lead, mentor and contribute to designs.
• Hands-on experience across transmission systems (PDH/SDH/DWDM) and optical tech.
• IP WAN/LAN networking and VoIP testing across 10/100/1000Mbps, 10G/40G/100G.
• Experience with AC/DC power, TSC and BMS systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-line maintenance, installation and commissioning support across Indigo's customer base.
• Respond to faults promptly, take ownership through resolution and meet SLAs.
• Perform fault finding using test equipment and procedures (OTDR, Ethernet).
• Install and commission telecoms infrastructure including rack, fibre, copper cabling and testing.
• Lead field activities as Lead Engineer and coordinate with Project Managers.
