Job summary

Indigo is seeking an L2 Field Engineer to lead field deployments, resolve complex issues and drive continuous improvement across telecoms infrastructure. The role blends hands-on execution with mentoring, performing across installation, testing and fault-finding in dynamic environments.

The position emphasizes technical leadership, safety, and stakeholder communication, with on-call duties and travel as required. A strong driving license and vendor experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience building telecoms infrastructure from plans to defined quality requirements.
• Strong network commissioning, testing and fault-finding with leadership ability.
• Hands-on experience across transmission tech (PDH, SDH, DWDM) and optical systems.
• Experience with equipment from major vendors (Ciena, Infinera, Nokia, Juniper, Cisco).

Responsibilities

• Provide field maintenance, installation and commissioning support across Indigo's customer base.
• Respond to faults and interventions, owning them through to resolution and SLAs.
• Lead field activities, supervise engineers and mentor juniors.
• Define and audit field installation quality standards and safety procedures.
• Coordinate with Project Managers and stakeholders on progress and issues.
• Produce project documentation and KPI-based performance feedback.
