Qualifications

• 5+ years of formal CS/SE concepts experience.
• 10+ years of hands-on software development in large-scale distributed systems (Java, Spring Boot, Python).
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools and evaluating AI outputs for correctness and security.
• Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows and security expectations.
• Strong experience with REST APIs and microservices architecture.
• Strong experience with Spark and SQL for big data processing and performance optimization.
• Kubernetes orchestration for production services.
• Experience with AWS services and tooling (Terraform, EMR, EKS/ECS, Lambda, RDS, S3).
• Experience with log analytics/observability tools (Splunk, CloudWatch, Datadog).
• Solid understanding of CI/CD, resiliency, and security.

Responsibilities

• Executes software solutions with design, development, and troubleshooting.
• Leverages AI coding assist tools to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity, with peer review and secure coding standards.
• Uses SDLC tools and enterprise AI-assisted development to improve automation value.
• Designs and deploys secure, scalable services integrating with enterprise systems with governance and auditability.
• Gathers and analyzes data to create visualizations and reporting for continuous improvement.
• Identifies data patterns to drive improvements in coding hygiene and architecture.
• Applies backend infrastructure patterns and implements monitoring/alerting for performance and reliability.
• Promotes consistent validation standards and reusable patterns across the team.
• Leads and mentors junior engineers and manages multiple deliverables across business groups.
• Defines guardrails for agentic AI used in production to meet quality, safety, latency, and cost requirements.
• Collaborates with LOB users, SMEs, architects, DBAs, and admins to design solutions and resolve issues.
