Job summary

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise-grade applications using Java and Spring Boot.
• Demonstrated experience building RESTful APIs, microservices, and distributed systems; cloud-native development with AWS including ECS, containers, and deployment patterns.
• Experience leading the use of AI-assisted development tools with the ability to set team expectations for validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations.
• Hands-on experience with Docker, containerized apps, and modern deployment practices; strong CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Solid experience with PostgreSQL, including data modeling, query optimization, indexing, and performance tuning.
• Proven ability to lead technical design discussions, evaluate options, and mentor engineers toward best practices.
• Experience adopting AI-assisted tooling for coding, review, testing, documentation, refactoring, or troubleshooting.
• Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills with excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and delivery of scalable, secure, cloud-native backend services and RESTful APIs using Java, Spring Boot, and microservice architecture.
• Provide technical leadership across the full software development lifecycle, including architecture, solution design, coding standards, implementation, testing, deployment, observability, and production support.
• Drives team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, testing effectiveness, and operational outcomes, with validation standards for secure coding, peer review, and automated testing.
• Applies knowledge of SDLC tools, including AI-assisted development and automation, to improve automation value.
• Drive engineering excellence by producing high-quality production code, rigorous code reviews, improving test coverage, and ensuring secure coding and engineering standards; design resilient distributed systems.
• Develop and deploy cloud-native services on AWS, leveraging ECS, Docker, and automated CI/CD delivery.
• Design, optimize, and maintain data models, schemas, and queries in PostgreSQL for data integrity and performance across distributed services.
• Produce and review architecture, technical design, and implementation artifacts; identify recurring issues and lead automation, remediation, and resiliency improvements.
• Drive adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, testing, documentation, troubleshooting, and operational outcomes.
• Establish team standards for validating AI-generated outputs, including secure coding review and performance validation; lead evaluation sessions with stakeholders.
• Analyze telemetry, quality metrics, and delivery patterns to drive continuous improvement in engineering practices and system reliability.
