Job summary

Synechron is seeking a Lead Java Developer for a Pittsburgh-based role. You will guide enterprise application design, implement scalable microservices, and lead architectural decisions using Java 17+ and Spring Boot.

You will design event-driven solutions with Kafka, develop RESTful APIs, and mentor teams to ensure security, performance, and compliance with AML/KYC regulations. Collaboration with product, DevOps, QA, and compliance stakeholders is essential.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with Java 17+ and JVM concepts.
• Extensive Spring ecosystem experience (Boot, MVC, Security, Data, Cloud).
• Deep knowledge of microservices, distributed systems and cloud-native design.
• Expertise in Apache Kafka, event-driven architectures and high-volume messaging.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs and service integrations.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development and implementation of enterprise applications using Java 17+ and Spring Boot.
• Define scalable, resilient microservices architectures.
• Own architecture, design decisions and integration patterns.
• Develop event-driven solutions with Apache Kafka.
• Lead technical discussions, reviews and architectural decisions.
• Develop RESTful APIs and integrate with internal and external systems.
• Ensure security, scalability, availability and performance of apps.
• Mentor developers and promote engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with product managers, DevOps, QA and compliance teams.
• Translate regulatory requirements into technical solutions.
• Resolve complex issues across apps, integrations and production environments.
• Support CI/CD, observability and cloud-native deployment practices.
• Contribute to roadmaps and modernization efforts.
• Ensure adherence to AML/KYC regulations.
