Job summary

Synechron is seeking a Lead Java Developer for a Pittsburgh-based role. You will guide enterprise application design, implement scalable microservices, and lead architectural decisions using Java 17+ and Spring Boot.

You will design event-driven solutions with Kafka, develop RESTful APIs, and mentor teams to ensure security, performance, and compliance with AML/KYC regulations. Collaboration with product, DevOps, QA, and compliance stakeholders is essential.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with Java 17+ and JVM concepts.
• Extensive Spring ecosystem experience (Boot, MVC, Security, Data, Cloud).
• Deep knowledge of microservices, distributed systems and cloud-native design.
• Expertise in Apache Kafka, event-driven architectures and high-volume messaging.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs and service integrations.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development and implementation of enterprise applications using Java 17+ and Spring Boot.

Salary: $120,000 - 130,000 per year

Requirements:

• Strong hands-on experience with Java 17 or higher, including modern language features and JVM concepts.
• Extensive experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security, Spring Data, and Spring Cloud.
• Strong knowledge of microservices architecture, distributed systems, and cloud-native application design.
• Expertise in Apache Kafka, event-driven architecture, and high-volume message processing.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs and service-to-service integrations.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or Cassandra.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
• Experience with Docker and container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Experience delivering projects in AML, KYC, financial crime, compliance, or regulatory technology.
• Preferred: experience with event-driven and reactive systems, CQRS, event sourcing, streaming architectures, Kubernetes production environments, cloud security, enterprise integration patterns, or architecture documentation tools such as Confluence, Jira, Draw.io, or ArchiMate.
• Preferred: relevant certifications in Java, cloud technologies, Kafka, Kubernetes, or enterprise architecture.
