Job summary

Capgemini seeks a Senior Lead Java Developer to join our hybrid Chicago-area team. You will own architecture, design microservices, and deliver secure, scalable enterprise solutions using Java, Spring Boot, and AWS.

You’ll lead development, mentor engineers, and partner with product owners and stakeholders while driving CI/CD, containerization, and cloud-native practices across AWS services such as EC2, EKS, and Lambda.

Qualifications

• Senior Java AWS Developer with strong expertise in Java Spring Boot AWS Kafka Microservices.
• Experience leading architecture design, mentoring, and delivery of scalable enterprise solutions.
• Hands-on with REST APIs, TDD/JUnit/BDD, and security (OAuth2).
• Experience with CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift.
• Experience with IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible).
• Proficient with relational and NoSQL databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB).

Responsibilities

• Lead application architecture design and technical decision making.
• Design and develop microservices and REST APIs using Java Spring Boot and Hibernate/JPA.
• Build secure applications utilizing OAuth2 and enterprise security frameworks.
• Deploy and support cloud native solutions on AWS (EC2, ECS, EKS, Lambda).
• Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, CloudFormation, and Ansible.
• Build CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or GitLab CI or similar tools.
• Drive containerization and orchestration using Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.
• Develop event driven solutions using Kafka, RabbitMQ, IBM MQ and Kinesis.
• Design and optimize databases including Oracle PostgreSQL DynamoDB and NoSQL platforms.
• Lead production support incident management performance tuning and system monitoring using Splunk Datadog Dynatrace and CloudWatch.
• Mentor teams conduct code reviews and collaborate with architects product owners and business stakeholders
