Job summary

CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to provide technical leadership across enterprise-scale software solutions, APIs, and cloud-native platforms. You will drive architecture strategy, modernize systems, and mentor engineers in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

The role partners with architects, product owners, and stakeholders to define roadmaps, ensure secure, scalable delivery, and maintain high availability.

Qualifications

• > Bachelor’s degree in CS, IT, or software engineering, or 4 years of relevant experience in lieu.
• "> 8+ years of software design, development, testing, and requirements management.
• "> Experience leading design and delivery of enterprise-scale software systems.
• "> Experience providing technical leadership across multiple development teams.
• "> Experience in Agile software delivery environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead teams in the design, development, implementation, and support of enterprise applications and integration platforms.
• Provide hands-on leadership for architecture, technical design, coding, code reviews, automated testing, and deployment activities.
• Serve as the technical authority for applications, APIs, and integration platforms.
• Design scalable, secure systems for large enterprise user populations.
• Champion DevSecOps practices and secure software delivery.
