Job summary

CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to provide technical leadership across architecture, design, and delivery of enterprise-scale software solutions, APIs, and cloud-native platforms.

You will partner with Architects, Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and business stakeholders to define roadmaps and deliver scalable, secure applications. 8+ years of experience in software design, strong leadership, and cloud/DevSecOps expertise are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related field; or 4 years of relevant experience.
• 8+ years of experience in software design, development, and delivery of enterprise-scale systems.
• Proven experience leading design and delivery across multiple development teams.
• Experience in Agile software delivery environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for architecture, design, coding, reviews, and automated testing.
• Lead modernization and cloud-transformation initiatives with secure delivery practices.
• Collaborate with Product Owners and stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable architectures.
• Drive DevSecOps practices and ensure observability, reliability, and performance.
