CVS Health is seeking a hands-on, driven Lead Java Software Development Engineer to join a high-energy team transforming digital pharmacy and health care experiences. You will mentor engineers, plan work, and deliver end-to-end cloud-native solutions for clinical workflows and EHR integrations.

The role emphasizes Java, Spring Boot, microservices, Kubernetes, and CI/CD in GCP/AWS/Azure, with focus on code quality, testing, security, and cross‑functional collaboration to drive business impact.

Qualifications

• 10+ years experience in software development lifecycle from ideation to production.
• 7+ years experience with Java, Spring, Junit, APIs using Spring Boot and microservices.
• 3+ years supporting health care clinical applications.
• Experience with Kubernetes, SOAP services, IntelliJ and DevOps tooling (Git, Jenkins, Github Actions).
• 3+ years deploying and managing cloud apps (Google Cloud preferred).
• 3+ years building large-scale distributed systems and data-heavy applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and collaborate with onsite and offshore engineers to deliver use cases and products.
• Plan and prioritize tasks, ensure timely delivery and code quality through reviews.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including clinical product and EHR partners to optimize design and performance.
• Own end-to-end development and deployment, including production observability of services for clinical workflows.
• Develop cloud-native apps and APIs using Spring Boot, REST APIs, and modern stacks.
• Implement testing via unit tests (JUnit, Mockito) and support CI/CD pipelines on GCP/Azure/AWS.
• Monitor health metrics, triage production issues, and advocate security best practices.
• Engage in PI planning, Scrum ceremonies, and align work with product milestones.
