Job summary

The City of Huntington Beach seeks a Lead Information Technology Technician to provide advanced technical support for network services and business processes. Under supervision, you will mentor staff, plan upgrades, and manage security and system monitoring.

A strong background in networking, project leadership and IT security is required. Education includes an Associate’s degree in a related field and five years of journey-level experience.

Qualifications

• Education as stated: Associate's degree or equivalent in computer science/telecom.
• Five years journey-level experience installing and maintaining computer hardware/software.
• Valid California Class C driver's license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, test, troubleshoot and repair desktop hardware and software.
• Maintain complex network equipment including routers, switches, hubs, fiber optics.
• Monitor systems and perform advanced troubleshooting and repair.
• Manage information security duties and safeguard data per standards.
• Plan and monitor hardware/software upgrades and backups; document changes.
• Develop technical docs and train users; lead project tasks as needed.
