Job summary

Stanley Black & Decker is seeking a Lead Category Sourcing Manager – IT (Software) for a hybrid role across multiple U.S. sites including New Britain, CT.

You will drive strategic IT software sourcing, lead complex contract negotiations, and manage supplier relationships in a global supply chain team. The role requires deep procurement and IT category experience, stakeholder collaboration across cross-functional teams, and the ability to lead initiatives with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• 9+ years Procurement experience with global, complex initiatives; management consulting background preferred.
• 5+ years IT Technology category experience; software focus.
• VAR/reseller management experience.
• Demonstrated stakeholder management across IT, Finance, Legal, Cybersecurity, and business teams.
• Proven leadership and ability to operate independently with minimal ramp-up.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Strategy, Finance, IT, CS, Engineering, Legal or related field; MBA preferred.
• Excel expertise; strong contract negotiator.
• Core competencies include analytical skills, project/time management, problem solving, communication/presentation, results orientation, contractual understanding, relationship building.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate IT contract renewals with stakeholders, focusing on software and multi-year savings.
• Plan and execute strategic sourcing initiatives; evaluate vendors; negotiate/award; contract management; SRM implementation.
• Serve as IT escalation lead for MSP and internal software procurement, including VIP handling.
• Execute IT software procurement operations; review/approve contracts; track and improve SOPs.
