Job summary

Stanley Black & Decker, Inc. is seeking a Lead Category Manager, Purchase Components, to join our global sourcing team in a hybrid role based in Ohio or Maryland.

You will lead supplier relationships, drive YOY productivity, and collaborate with engineering, operations, and finance to execute sourcing strategies across components such as sub-con, tires, paints, and rubber parts. Qualified candidates bring at least three years in strategic sourcing and category strategy, a Bachelor’s degree, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 3+ years strategic sourcing: supplier selection, supplier management, contract negotiations.
• 3+ years category or material field strategy experience.
• Knowledge of procurement/sourcing techniques and supplier integration.
• Special knowledge in outdoor equipment and/or power tools.
• Proven YOY productivity project experience.
• Strong leadership & facilitation skills.
• Project/program management and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work in a matrixed environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in negotiations and lead supplier relationships.
• Deliver year-over-year productivity and working capital goals.
• Collaborate with businesses/plants to meet productivity targets.
• Formulate and execute sourcing and continuous improvement strategies with cross-functional teams.
• Perform strategic supplier management and market analysis.
• Develop global purchasing strategies for categories including Sub-Con, Tires & Rims, Paint, Rubber, Belts.
• Negotiate, implement and manage supplier contracts and SLAs.
• Lead tenders/benchmarks and perform price/value analysis.
• Institute supplier development and scorecards; drive project implementations.
