Job summary

Itec Skills and Employment is seeking an Assessor and IQA to lead a team of Assessors, driving learner outcomes and quality across programmes. The role requires deep IQA knowledge, strong stakeholder engagement, and a proactive approach to improvement.

You will oversee sampling, verification, and reporting, ensuring alignment with awarding bodies, Estyn standards, and safeguarding requirements. A driving licence and willingness to travel are essential.

Qualifications

• Relevant occupational competence.
• Experience delivering training and support.
• Full driving licence with use of own vehicle.
• In-depth knowledge of Apprenticeship programmes including framework requirements, IQA processes and assessment methods.
• In-depth knowledge of Awarding Organisation requirements.
• In-depth knowledge of Estyn inspection requirements.

Responsibilities

• Motivate and develop a team of Assessors to ensure learners have a positive learning experience and KPIs are achieved.
• Develop a team of Assessors to improve delivery quality across programmes.
• Advise assessors on framework expectations and actions.
• Monitor and report assessor performance to the Lead IQA and Performance Manager.
• Ensure Assessors engage with workplace employers throughout the learning experience.
• Manage sampling and verification activities to improve learner progression.
• Ensure IQA activities meet learners' needs and Awarding Organisation, MEDR Estyn and Itec requirements.
• Embed safeguarding/prevent, ES DG C, language/culture, equality & diversity and health & safety in Assessors' practice.
• Complete IQA reports with detail to support performance improvement.
• Participate in and/or manage EQA visits to ensure portfolios meet standards and visits are successful.
