Job summary

HLW is seeking a Senior Project Architect for Interiors in New York. Lead technical development, coordination, and documentation of interior architecture projects from programming through construction administration.

Candidates should bring deep experience in project delivery, strong Revit proficiency, and a collaborative leadership style to guide teams and coordinate with consultants, contractors, and clients.

Qualifications

• 11+ years of professional architectural experience, with a focus on workplace interiors.
• Professional degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.
• Strong proficiency in Revit.
• Experience with MS Office and project management platforms (Newforma or Procore preferred).
• Demonstrated success in delivering high‑quality interior projects, particularly in commercial, workplace, or mixed‑use environments.
• Strong working knowledge of NYC building codes, ADA regulations, and construction practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and oversight on one or more projects throughout all design and construction phases.
• Direct the development of comprehensive drawing sets and construction documents, ensuring alignment with client goals, budgets, and HLW standards.
• Collaborate closely with project managers, design leaders, and consultants to deliver integrated design solutions.
• Conduct in‑depth coordination with MEP, lighting, and structural consultants, resolving technical conflicts and optimizing performance.
• Lead internal quality control efforts and support specification development in alignment with documentation.
• Participate in project risk assessment and proactively identify issues related to constructability, code compliance, and scope clarity.
• Represent HLW in client and consultant meetings; step in for Project Manager as needed.
• Assist with contract document reviews, permitting, and support signing/sealing processes.
• Manage and review shop drawings, RFIs, and submittals during construction administration.
• Conduct regular site visits to assess progress, resolve field conditions, and maintain alignment with design intent.
• Supervise and mentor junior team members; contribute to internal standards and staff development initiatives.
