Job summary

Boeing in North Charleston, SC is seeking a Senior Structural Analysis Engineer to join the Interiors Stress team. You will lead stress analysis activities on 787 Interiors, using hand calculations, Finite Element methods and dynamic simulations, and coordinate with design and supplier teams.

This role advances certification work, reviews supplier documents, and contributes to product lifecycle integrity, mentoring teammates and developing test plans.

Qualifications

• 9+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5+ years of experience performing stress analysis on interiors or related structures.
• 3+ years of experience with Buyer-Furnished and Supplier-Furnished Equipment.
• Experience with aircraft interiors and related structures.

Responsibilities

• Performs lead level advis e/assist/check stress analysis on Boeing 787 Interiors products.
• Performs stress analysis using classical hand methods, Finite Element tools/methods, and/or Dynamic Simulation tools/methods.
• Reviews and provides lead signature for Boeing technical oversight of supplier documents.
• Leads development, integration and documentation of structural requirements for Interior designs.
• Coordinates with other engineering groups to establish load cases and interfaces.
• Guides product design and verifies structural integrity throughout the product lifecycle.
• Leads development of test plans and configurations, supports test execution and analyzes results.
• Defines and documents certification/test results to satisfy customers and regulators.
• Supports in-service products by leading failure investigations and improvements.
• Mentors developing team members and grows the organization.
• Develops certification documentation to support CFR Part 25 Type Cert projects.
• Collaborates with domestic or international partners/suppliers.
• Applies CFR Part 21 and 25 knowledge and interacts with Regulators.
• Works under minimal direction.
