Job summary

Denver Museum of Nature & Science is hiring a Supervisor to lead our Creative Tech Interactive Technology and AV team. You’ll oversee Exhibit Technicians and Event Technicians, while remaining hands‑on with prototyping and floor support during events.

You’ll mentor a small team, set standards for respect and communication, and drive projects from concept through completion over the coming years. Evening/weekend availability is required.

Qualifications

• 2 years diagnosing and resolving mechanical/electronic issues.
• 2 years AV equipment experience (projectors/monitors/touch screens/cameras/mixing consoles/mics).
• 2 years operating hand and power tools in a commercial/industrial setting.
• 1 year experience with room automation systems.
• 1 year supervising or overseeing a team.
• Available to work evenings and weekends as needed; travel to remote locations when required.

Responsibilities

• Lead prototyping and design for new interactive exhibits from concept through installation.
• Oversee daily startup/shutdown and documentation for every exhibit and report status to management.
• Troubleshoot electro‑mechanical, microcontroller, PC‑based interactives, AV systems, and lighting; assist as needed.
• Maintain planetarium, giant screen theater, and laser show systems including projection and audio.
• Set up and troubleshoot AV, lighting, and video switching for events and venue reconfigurations.
• Hire, supervise, and develop Exhibit Technicians and Event Technicians; manage schedules and on‑call coverage.
• Represent Creative Tech across the museum and collaborate with curators and educators on priorities.
