Job summary

Air Force Test Center at Eglin AFB seeks a Supervisory General Engineer (NH-0801-03) to lead the instrumentation engineering section for airborne systems in Developmental and Operational Test & Evaluation. Oversees engineers and technicians in designing and integrating instrumentation solutions.

Position requires 5+ years of progressive leadership in test & evaluation, a professional engineering degree (ABET-accredited), and the ability to obtain Top Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Requires professional engineering degree from ABET-accredited college or university.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain Top Secret clearance.
• APDP Level 2 (Practitioner) certification in Test & Evaluation within 24 months.
• Probationary or trial period depending on position type (competitive/excepted).

Responsibilities

• Plan and supervise section work, assign tasks, evaluate performance, and handle appointments/promotions.
• Oversee daily activities, set long-range goals, and optimize resources.
• Serve as senior technical consultant in airborne instrumentation systems engineering.
• Represent the organization in installation, test, and functional forums with internal and external partners.
• Manage life cycle development of systems and OSS&E throughout life cycle of modified test systems.
• Develop and implement new technical applications or experimental processes to solve high-priority engineering problems.
